Gimp install separate windows. Thanks DND i downloaded that navcore copied it over to my memory card along with the australia map 8.70 run fast activate now when i put the card into my tomtom and turn it on its saying problem with map you cannot use this device australia-335 thanks for all your help u r givingJust re-read your post, reading between the lines, what you have done is copy everything to your SD card with a card reader and ran fast activate. This is where the problem is becasue it hasn't got any info from your tomtom. Connect your TomTom to your Computer with the USB cable. When it asks if you want to connect to the computer select 'YES' Then go to My Computer and open the tomtom drive so you can see all the files and folders. Then run 'FastActivate' from your tomtom drive and select each button from left to right, when finished unplug and restart the tomtom. Fingers crossed it should be working now.
HI I have a Tom Tom One XL with REALLY old Western Europe map. Thanks I'm almost complete, but when i click on the 3. Patch Navcore (ttsystem or PNDNavigator) it asks me for the drive letter (which is F, but when i select it it is just says how can i resolve this? Thanks EDIT: I copied the ttsystem file from the root directory to the SD card and it seems to have worked. Is that right? Also, when i try to Patch TomTom HOME it just says DLL is missing, how do i resolve this?
Thanks no you need patch navcore in internal drive if you copy only map to sd-card. When you run fastactivate select internal drive letter and patch navcore. So do i run Fastactivate on the internal drive for the navcore?
I've been running everything else on the SD card? Or alternatively can i copy the HOME to the SD card also? No, do just like i say now. Delete all other files from SD exept map, FastActivate.exe 2. Run FastActivate and select internal drive letter when asked.and patch navcore only 3. Close FastActivate 4.
Copy ttgo.bif to sd-card root 5. Run FastActivate again and patch your map dont think HOME if you not have worked map.first.
OK found out the problem, I didnt have a filefactory account so all the files were failing but using a decryptor its sorted. Ok got another problem.
With the 520 it has internal storage but not enough for the maps, so im using a 2gb SD card which ive copied the USA maps onto but when I run fast activate from the route of the sd card it seems to work but then asks for drive letter on tomtom device and only has the option of the internal memory which is drive H and not drive G which is the memory card in the device so now when I use 'switch maps' on the device I get an erro that I cannot use these maps which is probably because its not patched properly or something. What am I doing wrong? ThanksYou need to copy the ttgo.bif file from the internal memory onto the SD card before running FastActivate from the root of the SD card. Then confirm if a new.dct file was created in the map folder. Thanks getting further but now have error File Missing (ttsystem or PNDNavigator) - press any key to continue. That's because FastActivate is trying to patch the navcore and is looking for this file in the SD card.
You don't need to run this option again if you have already patched the navcore. Just to make sure, remove the SD card and run FastActivate from the internal memory but this time only press on the 3rd button 'ttsystem/PNDNavigator'. This will patch your navcore. Now remove your TomTom from the pc and power it on. YAY its worked, powered on after doing all that and it now said choose map so chose USA map and seems to work, but been as though im in the UK I cant test it can I or is there a way to test the maps working without having to wait until I touch down in Orlando? Thanks again for all your help, really appreciate it!!! ColinYou're welcome.
You can test the other map by doing a demo route. In the device menu, go to prepare a route, pick some random addresses and let it run in normal time. Or you can even browse the map. The menu has this option too. I have previously successfully used FastActivate but I have a couple of basic questions.sorry!!! - Do you need a 'live' internet connection to run FastActivate.
Is something being extracted from a server when you patch a map? - I am using version v1.8.8.5 with integrated meta.txt dated - this was the latest version when I was installing a new navcore and map back in March. If I plan on just using the same identical map and navcore which worked OK in March on other devices, can I just carry on using version v1.8.8.5? Thanks1) Not anymore. Internet connection was only needed to update the meta, but that can't be done anymore, as mentioned in post #129. 2) Yes, it will still work if the meta didn't need updating. Still though, it's always recommended to use the latest version. How to embed pdf files in wordpress posts.
