I've tried Hot Seat and Different Mach games and no matter what cheat codes (enabled) don't work in Simultaineous (v1.79). When was that broken? Toyota obd1 serial interface adapter. Space Emperor Joined: Feb 25, 2009 Posted: Tue Jun 16, 2009 3:38 am Post subject: why are you using cheat codes?
For testing purposes on a mod youre working on? But for them not working, I know they worked in 177 but thats not the issue here. Space Emperor Joined: Jun 07, 2006 Posted: Tue Jun 16, 2009 5:31 am Post subject: are they enabled? Space Emperor Joined: Apr 26, 2006 Posted: Tue Jun 16, 2009 12:14 pm Post subject: Easy way to check- Start a new game and doubly ensure cheat codes are enabled. If they work then you missed enabling them in the previous game. If they don't then there is a problem.

(Got tired of getting to the point where I could test things and the next patch would invalidate the save game.100+ turns shot to hell Again. After 5 times I want the codes to work! There is no point testing under old versions, since I'm looking for bugs that might have been fixed.) The last 4 or so patches for SE5 have been save game compatible.
That covers just over the last year and a bit. Space Emperor Joined: Mar 22, 2009 Location: Toronto Posted: Tue Jun 16, 2009 1:05 pm Post subject: Yes. I've gone back and checked and that was the whole problem. I can't get a platform to test simo on. Since I'm Not Interested in turn based, this means that I can barely get any testing done. Sad to say, since this means simo is not really testable.
I joined as a beta-tester to try to fix problems I found (and sublimate my urge to create my own game) but I've not been able to do much. Now that the Patches are far enough appart (and back compatable) to get some real turns in I can get up to testing levels. Got a game @ 2411.9 that is ready to test fighters and carriers, as well as sensors vs cloaking/mines. Too much remains broken to be worth trying to play for fun. Um.Actually yes. Not enough control over amount of points, and more importantly, I don't want to have to pick all the tech for all the races. It makes the empire have tech they wouldn't have picked. But if I don't they use all of the points (now that it's fixed), which is too much unless I put the points too low to make a difference.
Too much or too little, I still miss the platform goal. There Used to be more, which is probably why I hadn't thought of it this time around. Used to be that you Couldn't select Racial techs (and some others) at the start. (Would still be nice to have codes for the platform.) I guess I need to make ALL the empires manually to get the platform I'm after. It's more work and Still not quite what I'm after.

US '`' should be where german '^' is placed. the cheat codes have been activated - Space Emperor Joined: Mar 22, 2009 Location: Toronto Posted: Sat Sep 12, 2009 1:02 pm Post subject: Well, someone already did this, but I can't fid it now.
Goto the main screen, close all other windows. Press every key on your keyboard, One At A Time, until Cheat Code pops up on the bottom left corner of the system display. You may have to return to the system display a few times after pressing keys opens other windows.
Space Empires III V1.12
Just close them and continue. The most common are and ` but it can be Anything. Because of different keyboard layouts (and German version) this is way to find it anyway, though 'brute force'. Just don't be brutish to your keyboard, it isn't it's fault windows is like that.
If you Still can't find it: start a new, small game, Make Sure Cheats are Allowed and try again. You Will find it. Space Emperor Joined: Jun 23, 2007 Posted: Sat Sep 12, 2009 4:31 pm Post subject: Well, it does not work.
I will have to use the Graviton Beam then on Heavy Mount. Space Emperor Joined: Mar 22, 2009 Location: Toronto Posted: Sat Sep 12, 2009 9:14 pm Post subject: Opps, I forgot. Some laptops use need to use the function/special key to find the key.
So you will need to try them all again that way. And again, Make Sure Cheats are Allowed. Start a new game if you have to. Space Emperor Joined: Jun 23, 2007 Posted: Sun Sep 13, 2009 6:02 am Post subject: You can change the 'cheat' command under Controls.
You have to use the command 'consol' after entering the 'cheat' to close. Now, I understand.
